Technical Overview
SVL FLUID CL050 is a conventional emulsifiable fluid for everyday machining and light cold-rolling operations. Its formulation uses stable, refined hydrocarbon components to maintain emulsion consistency in general-purpose applications.
Benefits and Performance Features
- Balanced Cooling and Lubrication: Forms a lubricating film between the tool and workpiece to reduce friction and support heat removal.
- Multipurpose use: Suitable for all types of manual machining operations, light turning and milling and cold rolling of ferrous metals.
- Easy mixing: Creating a uniform milky emulsion in combination with normal workshop water.
- Economic savings: Reducing side costs of lubrication in applications with high consumption volume.
Technical Data Sheet (TDS)
Technical Data Sheet (TDS)
| Technical Parameter | Test method (Standard) | Typical Range / Value |
|---|---|---|
| Neat Oil Appearance | Visual | Clear yellow to light brown liquid |
| Emulsion Appearance (5% in Water) | Visual | Uniform Milky Emulsion |
| Density at 15°C | ASTM D-1298 | 0.880 – 0.915 g/cm³ |
| pH index (5% solution) | ASTM D-1287 | 8.8 – 9.5 |
| Emulsion Stability | IP-263 / ASTM D-1479 | Stable (no oil or sediment phase separation) |
| Cast-Iron Chip Corrosion Test (Herbert) | IP-125 | 0/0 – 0 (no rust) |
| Foaming (foam test) | IP-313 | Pass (rapid foam collapse) |
Recommended Working Concentration
- General machining and turning: 3% to 5% (ratio 1:30 to 1:20)
- Heavy-Duty Turning and Tapping: 5% to 8% (ratio 1:20 to 1:12)
- Cold Rolling of Tubes and Profiles: 4% to 8% (depending on the type of sheet and line speed)
Mixing Instructions: To achieve a stable emulsion, always add the oil to the water slowly and mix at the same time (never pour the water over the oil).
